In Habits for Success the author Stephen Rawlings sets out some of the reasons why you should consider being an entrepreneur. Yes, you will be in charge, but as it points out it also means the risk is yours as the success of your enterprise depends on you. On the other hand, if you put in the hard work, do your homework and provide a service and a product that people want then you will get your financial reward. He talks about how you can set up your business to mitigate the risks of failing in business. Stephen, describes what opportunities are available for those of you feeling that you are not using all your talents and potential to the full. He lets you make up your mind up about whether a change and a new direction or challenge and a dive into entrepreneurship is for you. Building a business from scratch requires the drive to be competitive on a constant basis. Like many other like minded people and successful men and women who have gone before you, when you finally see your finished product and the success it brings to you, you will feel completely amazed at the business you have created. This new found excitement is incredibly invigorating for anybody who has been waiting for the perfect opportunity to step into the greater, larger part of who they are. As you explore your options and unleash the creative powers within you, you will begin to see opportunities for providing a service and a product to fill the gap in the market. As Stephen points out make sure you have the physical and mental strength to keep working on your business. For once, all responsibilities and outcomes are on your shoulder, so do expect a lot of stressful and discouraging moments along the way,as you take those all important action steps and complete tasks in the initial start up stage. Many people who have gone into business for themselves, have wondered why they did not go into business for themselves. This, as Stephen Rawlings shares was his own experience too.
