This book follows the career events of a group of young people hired in 1965 to be Auditors for the Army. They go to Army schools and seminars, they learn on the jobs and then they do whatever it takes to advance ahead of their peers. They encounter normal life events of marriage, birth of children, spousal cheating, divorce, promotions, travel to exotic and less than exotic locations and endure the boredom of hotel and motel rooms as the 4 walls close in on them. Many leave the ranks within the first 5 years and others leave after that. In the end, they saw a lot of interesting things, traveled to many places and they no longer have a place they can call home. They have changed too much. So, what is better, a hum drum job in the home town or an exotic life of a travel job Read and enjoy.
