Dag Heward-Mills

Dag Heward-Mills is a Ghanaian author known for his evangelical Christian books. He writes in English and has published over 40 million books translated into 52 languages.

Dag Heward-Mills was born in London. He spent his early years in Ghana, where he attended Achimota School. His mother, of Swiss origin, and father, Nathaniel, moved the family back to Ghana, shaping his early life experiences.

Heward-Mills studied medicine, graduating from the University of Ghana Medical School in 1989. Despite his medical background, he found his calling in ministry and writing. In 1985, he began his church with a small fellowship of 5 people in a canteen.

This modest beginning led to the establishment of Lighthouse Chapel International in 1988, which later evolved into the United Denominations Originating from the Lighthouse Group of Churches (UD-OLGC). By 1991, the church expanded, purchasing a local theater in Korle-Gonno for services.

Heward-Mills's contributions to literature have made him the most prolific publishing author in Africa. His notable titles include The Art of Leadership (2003), Loyalty and Disloyalty (2004), and The Mega Church (The Mega Church).

"I am driven by the vision to share God's word through my writings," Heward-Mills once said, reflecting his dual passion for ministry and literature. Anagkazo Bible and Ministry Training Center grew from this vision, which extends beyond the pulpit and printed page to include training for pastors and ministry leaders in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

Heward-Mills founded the Healing Jesus Campaign, which has reached millions worldwide through his evangelistic efforts. In this area, he has been compared to evangelists such as Reinhard Bonnke. In 2011, Heward-Mills took on the role of pastor at First Love Church, which he renamed in 2020 to the United Organization of FirstLove Churches in 190 nations (UO-FLC 190).

The UD-OLGC encompasses several churches across Africa and beyond.
