Mervyn Morris

Mervyn Morris, who wrote in 1963 'On Reading Louise Bennett, Seriously', has maintained an interest in her work. He edited her Selected Poems (1982) and a selection of her radio monologues, Aunty RoachySeh (1993). Professor Emeritus of Creative Writing and West Indian Literature at the University of the West Indies, Mona, he is the author of 'Is English We Speaking' and other essays (1999), Making West Indian Literature (2005) and six books of poetry, including I been there, sort of (2006).
