Christina Holstein

Christina Holstein is a leading authority on the Battle of Verdun. Living close to the battlefield and speaking French and German, she has walked and explored the area for over fifteen years. She regularly conducts tours of the battlefield for individuals or groups and, with her specialized knowledge of the terrain, has acted as consultant to a number of other historians. Her best-known previous book on the subject is Fort Douaumont in Pen & Sword's Battleground Europe series. She is the founding Chairman of the Luxembourg branch of the Western Front Association.
