Fiona Snyckers is an award-winning South African author who writes series and novels across genres. In 2020, her book Lacuna won the South African Literary Award for best novel and the NIHSS Humanities Award for best novel. Snyckers has been nominated five times for the Sunday Times Fiction Prize.

Fiona Snyckers was born in Johannesburg. She studied at Rhodes University and the University of the Witwatersrand. She took a first-class Masters's degree in English Literature.

She authored the Eulalie Park Mysteries series, the Cat's Paw Cozy Mysteries, the Secondhand Witch Cozy Mysteries, and the Time Mavericks time-travel adventure series. She has also published various short stories and stand-alone novels.

Snyckers is also the creator of Trinity Luhabe, a beloved character in South African young adult fiction.

"South African teens deal with serious, life-changing issues every day. I have never seen the point in trying to shelter them from situations in fiction that they are dealing with in real life. That said, I believe my Trinity books handle weighty issues with a light touch," the author says.

Her The Burchell Sisters trilogy (Now Following You, Spire, and The School Gates) follows the lives of the three Burchell sisters, Jamie, Caroline, and Ella.

Fiona Snyckers lives in Johannesburg with her family.
