Diane Wing

Diane Wing is an American author of dark fantasy and cozy mysteries. She also writes non-fiction on spirituality and personal growth. She is best known for her Chrissy the Shih Tzu mystery series. Her most recent fiction title is Forest of the Dead (2024).

Diane Wing studied English and Communications at La Salle University. She earned a Bachelor of Arts there, focused on creative writing. She later returned to La Salle for a Master's degree. She studied Clinical Psychology and Human Services Psychology there.

Wing worked for over three years as a Customer Service Manager at Comcast. She later became Director of National Customer Service Operations. She then served as Director of Cable Division Human Resources. Her corporate career at Comcast spanned nearly seven years in total.

Wing wrote short stories and poetry throughout this period. In 2003, she founded Vibrant Concepts, LLC. Through it, she now works as an author, teacher, and personal development guide. She draws on twenty-five years of corporate experience in her practice.

Wing describes her fiction as carrying a sense of karmic justice. She has said her non-fiction heightens readers' self-awareness. Her work combines metaphysics, psychology, and storytelling throughout. She also runs the Wing Academy of Unfoldment, a personal development school.

Wing has written several dark fantasy titles across her career. These include Thorne Manor and Other Bizarre Tales. Coven: The Scrolls of the Four Winds followed as another entry. Trips to the Edge: Tales of the Unexpected also appeared in this genre.

In 2024, Wing published Forest of the Dead: Stories of Transformation. The expanded edition combines two volumes of linked stories. It follows a character named Samuel across the collection. His mother's death unlocks an unusual gift within him.

Samuel gains the ability to hear the memories of tree spirits. His journey moves from Pennsylvania's Forest of the Dead to Peru's jungles. The tree spirits share ancestral wisdom held within their roots and bark. Their stories echo details from Samuel's own life and grief.
The book blends magical realism with themes of healing. Samuel's encounters challenge his understanding of humanity itself. Author Lyn Hicks called the book "intriguing, enveloping, inspiring, and soul-transmuting." Reader Maxine Ashcraft praised Wing's originality and imagination throughout the collection.

Wing has also written the Chrissy the Shih Tzu cozy mystery series. Titles include Attorney at Paw and Doggone Honeymoon. Her non-fiction includes The True Nature of Tarot and The Happiness Perspective.

Diane Wing lives in Huntingdon Valley, Pennsylvania, with her husband and their two dogs, Lily and Chiquita.
