A short prompt can carry more information than you intended. A name-free spreadsheet can still be confidential. And permission to use an AI tool may not cover the file, feature, or audience you have in mind.

Don't Paste That into AI helps employees and managers make clearer decisions before submitting workplace information. Learn how to distinguish access from processing authorization, select only the information a task needs, check accounts and connected features, and preserve accuracy when preparing excerpts, labels, or aggregates.

Eleven practical chapters cover everyday prompting, permission requests, document preparation, team conversations, incident reporting, and changing roles. A working reference, plain-language glossary, and nine detailed fictional exercises let you practice with mixed files, spreadsheet tests, reporting figures, connectors, approval boundaries, and wrong attachments.

The guide explains when an existing procedure lets work proceed, when a request needs another decision, and when a different method is appropriate. It offers practical education rather than legal advice, a security certification, or a guarantee of confidentiality.
