Andrea Palladio

Because of the widespread adoption of the principles elaborated in his Four Books of Architecture (derived in great part from Vitruvius), Andrea Palldio is often considered the most influential individual in the history of Western architecture, his architectural works having "been valued for centuries as the quintessence of High Renaissance calm and harmony" (Watkin, D., A History of Western Architecture).
