Michele Venné

Michele Venné is an American author known for her romantic suspense novels, poetry collections, and science fiction series. She published her first novel in 2008 and has since written across several genres, including romance, adventure, and speculative fiction. Her books often include a “Dear Reader” introduction and conclude with “Questions to Ponder,” inviting readers to reflect on themes presented in the text.

Michele Venné was born and raised in the United States. Teaching was her first career. In high school, she took honours English classes and later developed a fondness for writing essays and research papers in college. She wrote newspaper articles about student organisations and composed annual holiday letters for family and friends.

Around 2002, Venné began drafting the opening chapters of what would become her first novel. After attending a creative writing course at a local college, she completed the manuscript in 2008. Following difficulties with a publisher, she chose to publish independently. She lives in Phoenix, Arizona, where she teaches, practises yoga, writes, and spends time with her horse.

Her writing process began as a personal exploration but evolved into a consistent practice of storytelling. Alongside novels, she has written poetry and short fiction. She has said that life’s experiences provide “the best fodder for the muse,” and that writing allows her to process change and growth.

Her poetry collection Cracked Heart (2017) includes seventy-five poems that explore transformation and recovery. It also contains guidance for beginners on writing poetry and using verse for healing. The book reflects her belief that rhythm and words can aid personal understanding.

Among her notable novels is Of Gifts and the Goddess (2012), a historical romantic suspense set in medieval Ireland, which tells the story of Anne McCleary and Duncan O’Connor. In Of Dolphins and Desires (2018), she follows two protagonists, Courtney Swanson and Logan Phelps, through an action-filled adventure from the Pacific coast to Tijuana.

She is also the author of the Stars science fiction series, which follows Princess Kiersten, Prince Aiden, and their adopted daughter Skyler in a story of intergalactic duty and destiny. Her Tanner Trilogy, beginning with Of Hoof Prints and Heartbeats (2015), portrays intertwined tales of love, trauma, and redemption within a family saga.

Michele Venné continues to publish independently. Her fiction and poetry appear online, in libraries, and in select bookshops.
