Logan Pierce treats limits like suggestions. At a classified U.S. flight test base, the elite pilot chases speed, altitude, and the next challenge waiting above the desert. If an aircraft can go faster, he’ll push it there. If a ceiling exists, he’ll test it.

Then Dr. Elara Voss stops his next flight cold.

The new safety engineer flags structural risks in the hypersonic prototype and grounds the mission. Logan sees a barrier between him and the sky. Elara sees a pilot gambling with physics and metal fatigue. Their clashes spread quickly across the base heated debates in hangars, tense briefings, voices carrying under bright work lights.

Still, proximity changes things. Simulation runs stretch late into the night. Data reviews pile across steel tables while coffee cools beside the screens. The Aurora prototype looms nearby, silent and waiting. Somewhere between arguments and quiet pauses, something shifts. Logan begins to notice the resolve behind Elara’s caution. Elara sees the relentless drive pushing Logan toward every edge.

The program soon approaches its most dangerous hypersonic test yet. Pressure builds from every direction. Classified deadlines. Technical risks. Emotions neither expected.

Soon they face a harder choice keep fighting each other, or stand on the same side.

Some limits aren’t written in flight manuals.

Discover more high-flying passion in the American Sky Hearts series, where elite pilots chase their dreams in America’s most extraordinary aircraft, and unexpectedly fall for the sunshine women bold enough to ground their hearts.

High above a locked-down American test base, the sky belongs to a select few. Only the best pilots reach these cockpits. They fly machines the rest of the world barely glimpses stealth fighters, shadowy bombers, experimental aircraft built for missions no one discusses.

They’re disciplined. Fearless. And often a little too grumpy for comfort.

Then someone walks in and rattles the whole system. Women with bright smiles and sharp timing. Women who laugh at brooding pilots and refuse to step aside. Fluorescent lights hum in the hangar. Jet fuel hangs faintly in the air.

In the American Sky Hearts series, high-speed flight meets military ambition, and romance that refuses to stay grounded.
