Don Osborne

Don Osborne was raised in the Melbourne suburb of Preston, in the shadows of the mighty Pentridge Prison. He obtained a primary teacher’s certificate at Melbourne Teachers College and later a Special Teacher’s Certificate at the same Institution. His teaching experience covered some thirty years and included terms in several primary schools, a secondary school, and a special school as well as the institutional school at Pentridge Prison.

He has always spent much of his leisure time reading and researching true crime, and has been an avid court watcher for many years. The murder trials he has attended include the sensational Supreme Court trial of Ray Bennett, Vin Mikkelsen and Laurie Prendergast for the murder of Les Kane, when police marksmen lined the roof of the court.

Don’s sporting interests include football, cricket, horse-racing and lawn bowls.
