Lauren Baratz-Logsted

Lauren Baratz-Logsted is the author of 40 books for adults, teens, and children, including The Sisters 8 series for young readers, which she created with her husband, Greg Logsted, and their daughter Jackie. Her books have been published in 15 countries.

Lauren Baratz-Logsted grew up in Monroe, CT, where her parents owned a drugstore. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Connecticut at Storrs in psychology. She also pursued her "half-Masters" degree in English from Western Connecticut State University, having completed five courses and aiming to finish the remaining five someday.

During her college years, she took up a job as a doughnut salesperson during semester breaks, a role she believes contributed to her developing white lung disease due to inhaling powdered sugar.

After graduating, Lauren joined the renowned independent bookseller Klein's of Westport, where she worked in buying and selling books for 11 years. However, the bookstore eventually closed its doors.

In 1994, Lauren decided to pursue her passion for writing. She worked as a book reviewer, freelance editor, and writer. She even had the unique experience of hosting a book signing party while working as a window washer, including washing the windows of the late best-selling novelist Robert Ludlum.

In 2002, Lauren's hard work paid off when Red Dress Ink offered to purchase her book, The Thin Pink Line. Since then, she has started her writing career.

Lauren Baratz-Logsted has written and published over forty books, from adults to kids, covering all genres and themes, ranging from comedic to literary, contemporary to historical, and suspense to romance.

Lauren Baratz-Logsted lives with her family in Danbury, Connecticut.
