Maria Spencer has seen what thyroid disease can do to an individual. From the struggles that she saw some of her family members go through trying to get things under control with medical intervention, it peaked her interest to try and find out what thyroid disease really was and what the current methods of treatment are. From her research she found out that there was a lot that could be done and that apart from medical intervention the individual could also go on a thyroid diet which would have the afflicted individual eating foods that would help to maintain or improve thyroid function.
