Anita Waller

Anita Waller is a prolific British author. Since 2015, she has published over twenty supernatural thrillers, including the cozy mystery series Kat and Mouse.

Anita Waller was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire in 1946. Over the years, she has crafted many suspense-filled narratives, focusing on "necessary murder" as her chosen theme. Waller debuted in 2015 when Bloodhound Books published her first novel, Beautiful.

In 2018, Anita was commissioned to write the Kat and Mouse series. This project expanded significantly with eight books and a spin-off titled Epitaph by 2022. The spin-off highlights Doris, a character from the Kat and Mouse series.

Waller's approach to writing is notably spontaneous; she begins with a single sentence and allows the story to unfold organically, stating, "Every novel starts with a sentence, and I wait to see where that sentence will take me."

After leaving Bloodhound Books in 2021, Anita joined Boldwood Books. This move was followed by the release of One Hot Summer in August 2022, the first in a five-book deal.

Among her recent works is the Connection Trilogy, penned between 2021 and 2022. The series includes Code Blue, Blood Red, and Mortal Green. These novels feature the Connection Investigation Agency, which deals with cold cases and new mysteries alike.

Code Blue follows a couple seeking closure for a tragic loss five years prior. Blood Red involves the agency in solving a decades-old murder on the first day under new management. Mortal Green narrates the disappearance of a woman in the village of Eyam, sparking a complex investigation with fatal outcomes.

Anita Waller works and lives in Sheffield. She married Dave in 1967, and together they raised three children. Away from writing, Anita is a passionate FC Sheffield Wednesday fan.
