James Lilliefors

JAMES LILLIEFORS is a journalist and novelist who grew up in the Washington, D.C. area. His novels include THE PSALMIST (2014) and THE TEMPEST (2015) and the geopolitical thrillers THE LEVIATHAN EFFECT and VIRAL. He has written for various publications including The Washington Post, The Baltimore Sun, The Miami Herald and The Boston Globe. He started his journalism career as a writer and editor with Runner's World magazine and worked for many years as a newspaper editor and reporter, in Maryland and in Florida, winning a number of reporting awards. Lilliefors was the longtime head writer at the Philharmonic Center for the Arts/Naples Museum of Art (now Artis-Naples) in Florida. He is the author of several non-fiction books, including AMERICA'S BOARDWALKS, BALL CAP NATION and HIGHWAY 50, as well as a mystery novel, BANANAVILLE. He was educated at the University of Iowa and the University of Virginia, where he was a Henry Hoyns Fiction Writing Fellow. Lilliefors also co-wrote (with Janet Johnson and Dr. Jack Crocker) the alma mater for Florida Gulf Coast University.
