It is said that d’oglemenn caused the Great Departure, which led to the decline of magic, and for that, the d’oglemenn have yet to be forgiven.

As Vidarr hunts the murderer, he learns that not only is his life in peril, but so are the lives of his kin, the ones who disposed of his egg. And the more Vidarr discovers, the more he knows something isn’t quite right with the myth.

Can Vidarr survive discrimination, a murderer, and the monsters of the wild? Can he figure a way out of his predicament to do what he really wants—to return to his true home?
