Ray Kavanagh

Ray Kavanagh was born in 1954 in Co. Offaly. He taught for twelve years as a national school teacher in St Patrick's College of Education in Drumcondra. In 1983 he became national campaign director for The Anti-Amendment Campaign. In 1986 he was appointed general secretary of the Labour Party and didn't return to teaching until 1999. He now lives in Dublin. His warts-and-all account of the Labour Party, Spring Summer and Fall was published by Blackwater Press in 2001.
