James D. Redwood

James Downing Redwood taught English in what was then South Viet Nam from 1972-1974, and he then returned briefly to Saigon in April, 1975. He has been writing fiction about Southeast Asia since 1986 and has published short stories about Viet Nam since 1993. He is currently working on a novel, PALE FATE, set in Viet Nam and Cambodia in 1969 and 1970, which he hopes to finish before Y3K. He is very gratified that his collection of short stories, LOVE BENEATH THE NAPALM, is being published by the University of Notre Dame Press. Redwood is married, with two children, and currently lives in Glenmont, New York. It has been his experience that trying to write is easy but trying to write well is almost impossible.
