Lisa Schroeder is an American author who writes books for teenagers and children. She writes both verse and prose novels. Her best-known works include I Heart You, You Haunt Me (2008) and It's Raining Cupcakes (2010).
Lisa Schroeder is a native Oregonian. She attended primary school in Salem, Oregon. She has fond memories of the Salem Public Library. She later graduated from Lebanon Union High School in Lebanon.
She studied at Oregon State University. She majored in Business Administration. She then worked from home for a non-profit organisation. She currently lives in a suburb near Portland.
Schroeder began writing as a child. “I’ve been writing books since I was a young girl,” she said. She also said that she once wanted to be like Encyclopaedia Brown. 'Since that didn't work out, I decided to become an author instead.' She started writing children's books in 2003. She sold her first picture book in 2005. She sold her first novel in 2007.
Her debut novel was I Heart You, You Haunt Me (2008). It was an ALA Quick Pick for Reluctant Readers. She later wrote the verse companion novel Chasing Brooklyn. Her other teen verse novels include The Day Before and Far from You. She also wrote the prose novel Falling for You.
She has also written books for middle-grade readers. Her cupcake novels include It's Raining Cupcakes, Sprinkles and Secrets, and Frosting and Friendship. She has also written the fantasy novel The Girl in the Tower. Her other middle-grade titles include My Secret Guide to Paris, See You on a Starry Night, and Wish on All the Stars. She also wrote companion books to the Paris story: Sealed with a Secret and Keys to the City.
Lisa Schroeder currently lives in Beaverton with her husband and two sons.
