An important scene involving a large 3D hologram star map called the Orrery was inspired by the 1776 Joseph Wright painting A Philosopher Lecturing on the Orrery in which a scientist shows a mechanical planetarium by candlelight. The scene is reported to have been shot to a playback of Pink Floyd’s landmark “Dark Side of the Moon.”
