William Montgomery Brown

Episcopal clergyman and author.Brown is best remembered as the first Episcopal bishop to be tried for heresy since the Reformation, and the first of any creed in America to be deposed for his pro-communist teachings.Brown developed a interest in marxism in 1910s. Which led him to reject "historical jesus". It led to his heresy trial by the House of Bishops in 1924–25.While on trial he was offered in both the Russian Orthodox Church and the Old-Catholic Church. He choose the Old-Catholic church and became a bishop.It is said his ghost can be spotted at the Brownella Cottage in Gallon, Ohio.
