Linda Thompson

Librarian’s note: Linda Kay Thompson is a multi-talented single mother who loves the adventure of living in Bush Alaska since arriving in 1968. From the moment Erik was born, she refused to listen to society's limited view about him. She wanted more for all her children, and kept moving in search for what was best. Linda has worked as a geographic researcher, recreation coordinator, trapper, teacher, business owner, and in home construction. She has lived in Igloolik, NWT, South Naknek, St. Mary's, Dillingham, Kaltag, Port Alsworth, Fairbanks, Anchorage, Juneau, Wasilla, Kenny Lake, and finally settled in the arts community of Homer. Shes an Alaska certified elementary teacher, K-12 physical education teacher, and special education teacher. Presently she teaches full time intensive needs special education, coordinates Erik's art business, Brown Bear Products, and has volunteered with Special Olympics since 1989. In her spare time, she writes."
