What if the biggest thing holding you back… is you?

In Big Hen Energy, leadership coach and “chicken” Julie Ohlendorf delivers a bold, refreshing take on fear, self-doubt, and the invisible rules that keep us playing small. Blending humor, real-life stories, and practical coaching tools, this book challenges you to stop waiting, stop overthinking, and finally take action toward the life you actually want.

If you’ve ever stayed silent when you should have spoken up…

Played it safe instead of taking a chance…

Or told yourself “I’m not ready yet”…

You’re not alone—and you’re not stuck.

Through the lens of fear (and a whole lot of chicken metaphors), Julie reveals how:

Fear disguises itself as logic, perfectionism, and “being realistic”
The stories you tell yourself shape your confidence, decisions, and future
Rigid, unspoken “rules” quietly keep you stuck
Your environment (and your “flock”) can either fuel your growth or hold you back
Courage isn’t about being fearless. It’s about moving forward anyway

This isn’t about becoming a perfect version of yourself. It’s about becoming a braver, bolder, more authentic you. It's about embracing your inner chicken.

Packed with powerful insights, relatable moments, and actionable “Stepping Stone Prompts,” Big Hen Energy will help you:

Break free from self-limiting beliefs
Rewrite the rules you’ve been living by
Build confidence through action, not perfection
Speak up, take risks, and ruffle a few feathers when it matters
Lead your life with clarity, courage, and purpose

Fear doesn’t mean stop. Fear means something important is on the other side.

It’s time to stop waiting for the “perfect moment.”

It’s time to trust yourself.

It’s time to cross the road.

Bring your Big Hen Energy. Cross the road and go live your life.
