Anette Guldager Boye

Anette Guldager Boye is a Danish historian and author of the Born from Magic series. She works in the Department of Archaeology of Odense Cities Museums.

Anette Guldager Boye was born in Odense. She graduated with a Master's degree in History, Humanistic Studies, and Scientific Studies from the University of Southern Denmark.

At Odense City Museums, Anette Guldager Boye teaches and lectures about history and genealogy at the Department of Archaeology. She uses the folk traditions and beliefs of the medieval and Viking eras to support her engaging narratives.

The Born from Magic series, including titles such as The Ultimate Sacrifice, Twice Cursed, and The Magical Trees, reflects Boye's profound understanding of Danish folklore and history, intertwining elements of magic and mysticism within rich historical settings.

Additionally, her articles, which include "Balthazar La Cour — a French Family in Funen," "Witchcraft in Funen," "The Trident in Rosen Stream," and "Witchcraft and Witches as Everyday Fare," offer comprehensive insights into folk beliefs and practices in Funen during the medieval and pre-1700 periods.

"I have a deep fascination with the sagas, not just of the Danish area, but also those from the other Scandinavian countries. The first reason is that it attempts to record the oral stories that existed before the written sagas. In addition to telling some fantastic stories, they provide us with some information about their belief systems and people at the time." Anette Guldager Boye said.

Her dedication to uncovering Danish history's intricacies has made her a respected authority in historical research and writing.
