Wow, this book is DARK. The atmosphere is so creepy and suffocating, you can almost feel the fog in the room. You just watch as a mother's love and fear twists into something monstrous that destroys everything she's trying to 'protect.' It's a slow burn that gets seriously chilling. Absolutely heartbreaking and terrifying. I couldn't stop reading, but I'll be thinking about it for a long, long time.
Wow, this book was seriously creepy! The atmosphere is suffocating in the best way; the author makes the woods feel like a living, breathing monster that's constantly watching. The paranoia and tension just keep building until you feel like you're losing your mind right along with the characters. I was genuinely terrified and couldn't put it down. If you love slow-burn horror that gets under your skin, you HAVE to read Prey in the Pines.
