Born in the heart of a raid on a stormy winter night, Snehild enters the world delivered by a mysterious jötunn woman. As she takes her first breath, the Norns whisper a prophecy over her—one that will shape the fate of kingdoms.

Years later, unrest festers in Himlinge, the royal seat of Sialand. King Tormod suspects his brother-in-law of treachery. The cunning royal advisor, Brynjulf Raveneye, debates which of the twin princes should inherit the crown. High Priestess Ragnfrid seethes with jealousy toward the local herbalist, beloved by the royal family. But the greatest threat to Ragnfrid’s power may be the herbalist’s daughter—Snehild—whose prophetic visions could upend the balance of the realm. And the priestess has no intention of letting that happen.

But a heroine blessed by the gods, and marked by the Norns, cannot be easily destroyed. Pursued by danger, Snehild flees her home, embarking on a perilous quest to uncover the truth of her bloodline and the full force of her powers.
