Phyllis Bohonis

Phyllis lives in semi-retirement in rural Ottawa with her husband, Ray. She grew up in Thunder Bay in beautiful Northwestern Ontario where she raised three children. Two of her first three books are set near there. Her education and career were in accounting but after semi-retiring in Blind River in 2002, she enrolled in a comprehensive writing course and finished working on her first novel.Phyllis and her husband have travelled extensively by car from coast to coast. It's from these wanderings she developed her stories with favourite Canadian locations as the settings. After having several memoirs and short stories published, her first two novels, both romantic suspense, Fire in the Foothills and The Wilderness, were published in 2013 and 2014 respectively. Her third novel, Tomorrow's Promise, was released on April 6th of this year. The story differs slightly from her first two novels by eliminating the suspense element. Close on the heels of that one, her suspense fans can look forward to her fourth novel which will have you back on the edge of your seat. Stalking, nightmares, and a mysterious doctor will have your heart beating and the pages turning. It’s tentatively scheduled for release in the winter of 2015/2016. She loves writing about characters who are 50 plus. Phyllis rationalizes that protagonists in their "autumn years" are old enough to have developed character but still have a whole lotta livin' to do. Phyllis is a proud member and recently retired president of Canadian Authors Association - National Capital Region. For more information on upcoming book signings or where to purchase a copy of Phyllis’s books visit www.phyllisbohonis.com
