Seema Chatterjee

Seema Chatterjee spent her childhood in Egypt and England, where her father, a senior journalist with the Times of India, was then posted. She accompanied her family on their wonderful journeys through these and other countries. Seemaand her twin-brother, were picked by the BBC for the children's programme, Let's Make a Story. Perhaps the seedsof a boundless imagination were sown in these diverse childhood experiences. A voracious reader, Seema remembers when her exasperatedfather threw her story books out of the window, convinced that her academic studies were suffering. But she sneakeddown four flights of stairs and quietly retrieved the books instead! Seema has lived her life in multiple cultures and akaleidoscope of different worlds ? from her childhood, to working for CRY (Child Relief and You), to being an expatwife and following her husband on assignments to Sri Lanka, China, Singapore and Indonesia.Through her travels and sojourns, she continues to inhabit yet another world through her writing and the enchantingbursts of magic in her stories. As Seema says, ïFor me, writing is a catharsis. It allows me to peer into my soul as I lose myselfand revel in a wonderful world of fantasy.îThe Chattering Forest is her third book, followed by The Bumblebees and Other Stories and A Grain of Truth, her first book in the adult-realist fiction genre.Seema can be reached at: seemachat@hotmail.com
