Angela Dorsey

ANGELA DORSEY currently lives on Vancouver Island and is thoroughly enjoying the ocean breezes, awesome hiking, and lack of snow! In the past, she has lived in a number of small towns throughout B.C., and loved them all. In addition to hiking, she enjoys gardening and is an avid animal lover. She has a tendency to name her pets after things that remind her of her coastal home, such as Misty, Raven, and Cedar. She also enjoys travelling and looks forward to continuing her explorations, both near and far. Angela is mainly a writer of juvenile fiction novels, though she occasionally dabbles in other genres as well. Her first book, Freedom (aka A Horse Called Freedom) was first published in 2001 by Stabenfeldt of Norway, and after that, by Scholastic Canada. With two sequels, Freedom still has a faithful following. Since that first publication, she has written more than 20 juvenile fiction books that have been published in eleven countries and translated into nine languages. The Time Thief (2011) and Abandoned are the only stand alone novels, with the rest being either in the Freedom trilogy, the Horse Guardian series, or more recently, the Whinnies on the Wind series. In addition, she has one juvenile non-fiction book published, co-authored with Marina Miller, and numerous pieces in literary journals and anthologies, such as creekstones, Room, On Spec, and Ascent Aspirations. She is also in the process of writing her first screenplay based on her book, Freedom, with co-writer Marina Miller. When she isn’t writing, daydreaming, gardening, hiking, or travelling, Angela enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She feels very lucky to be both a mom and a grandma, and especially enjoys living near all her kids, kids-in-law, and her beautiful grandchildren! To check out her novels, go to www.angeladorsey.com.
