Alyson Gerber is a USA TODAY bestselling author. She writes middle-grade mysteries and is known for The Liars Society (2024).

Alyson Gerber was born in Andover, Massachusetts. She faced challenges as a struggling reader with undiagnosed ADHD. Alyson attended two New England prep schools. Later, she earned an MFA in creative writing from The New School.

Alyson's passion for writing began in an NYU playwriting course. She transitioned from aspiring actor to writer after encouragement from actress Molly Ringwald. Her novels, including Focused, Braced, and Taking Up Space, tackle personal experiences. They discuss themes like body image and self-worth, resonating with readers and critics alike.

These books have received five-star reviews and numerous state award nominations. They are Junior Library Guild Gold Standard Selections and have been recognized by the Today Show and Kirkus Reviews.

Taking Up Space (2021) addresses diet culture's impact on self-perception. It aims to facilitate discussions among children, teachers, and parents. Alyson uses her writing to explore and process complex issues, revealing the importance of vulnerability in storytelling.
