Jim Grundy

Born in Decatur Texas, but grew up in the coal fields of West Virginia. After graduating from school the author began to drift trying to find his niche in life. Sometimes hungry, cold and alone he was driven by the fear of failure and the dream of success that he had never experienced in his life.Literally fighting his way from one town to another using his fist, on occasion when his man hood was challenged that would later lead him to be a two time light heavy weight golden glove champion. Being number one always resonated with this man and nothing else was good enough. One night after a boxing match Jim was confronted in the parking lot by two men who he thought were bill collectors. Little did he know the two well dressed gentlemen , angles as Jim calls them, offered him his first big break in life. The next morning he would start a job with Morse Electro Products, the largest stereo company in america. Starting with used clothing he had bought the night before and one year later being sent to New York to the National Awards banquet and named the top sales representative of the year. (this is a classic story of rages to riches). This was the start of the american dream for him. Soon after this Jim would be in a divorce court gaining full custody of his two year old daughter. Because of the time spent on the road Jim knew he could no longer work this way and devote time needed to her. Using money he saved Jim opened his first store that would lead to him to successfully owning over twenty more businesses...then the bottom would drop out!Three failed marriages, murders, sexual assault, framed by a school board just to name a few, he could take no more and by this time Jim fell into deep depression. With injuries from the Marines he would be faced with two major back surgeries. As he was recovering from surgery and a lot of time on his hands Jim began thinking about his Dr's and friends advise who so many times told him; Jim, You have lived the life of twenty men and need to write a book!Today after many grueling hours sitting in restaurants with nothing more that a pad and pen this author began writing his life story as we know it today, "From Hell to Heaven to Hell". This is just a glimpse into the life of this more than unique man who was driven by the fear of failure and was motivated for success at all cost, due to his childhood. Never count this man out, being a boxer his motto has always been,"its not how many times you get knocked down, but how many times you get back up"!
