Ethel Hume Bennett

Born in 1881 to Joseph Patterson and Isabelle Brown, Ethel Hume Patterson graduated from the Toronto Public High School, and received a BA from Victoria College, at the University of Toronto. She married John S. Bennett in 1916, and continued to reside in Toronto until her death, in 1956. Bennett helped to edit a number of anthologies, but she is primarily remembered for the four children's novels she wrote: two school stories, and two holiday tales.
