Chonkyponk tells the sad tale of Lily, a girl living all alone in a strange world. She dreams of the happier times in her life and of her imaginary friend 'Chonkyponk'. Life is not happy for Lily but when it seems that all hope is lost she gets a surprise visit.
Chonkyponk is as sad as it is uplifting and suggests hope, despair, loneliness and friendship in equal measures. Each reader takes away from the story their own interpretation of it's meaning. An illustrated book for the more confident reader and perhaps for carers to use as a basis for discussing topics of loneliness or loss.
