This book describes a cycling tour around the island of Hokkaido in northern Japan, following the pilgrimage path — Hokkaido Kannon 33 Reijo. The journey took about three weeks and covered 2800kms from Hakodate to Sapporo and Asahikawa, up to Wakkanai and down the East Coast to Nemuro and Kushiro. The text is enhanced by many colour photos of the temples and aspects of Japanese life not found in the more conventional tourist areas.
