This work is a beginning attempt to fill that void. It is argued that John 12:1–43 mirrors Isa 52:7–53:1, highlighting Jesus’ identity as Servant and announcing that the Isaianic new exodus is secured by Jesus’ rejection/death. John’s contextual reading of Isa 52–53 has fueled much Johannine theology, Christology, and ecclesiology.
