“Wait a minute. Tell me the buyer isn’t Dominic Russo.”

“Who? No. It’s not even a person. It’s a trust. The buyer’s agent said the buyer fell in love with the house.”

“They did?” I whispered.

“Actually the email said fell in love in the house, but that was a typo. So you’re going to need to start packing.”

“Don’t come,” he ordered.

But it was her smile that hit me the hardest.

She was bone-deep happy. And it was just for me. It was all for me.

I, Dominic Russo, was smiling.

“What’s happening with your face right now?”

Pinning me with his gaze, he brought the crumpled, cheap pink lace to his nose.

“Who the hell did this to you?”

This guy was trespassing on my territory, and I had no problems letting him know it.

“Ally,” Dominic whispered.

“Dom, I’m a little busy trying not to kill us.”

“You didn’t pinky promise me yet.”

“Oh for fuck’s sake.” I hooked my pinky around his and tried not to fall in love with the idiot when he pressed his lips to our joined fingers.

“What are you doing?” My words were muffled against his chest.

He stroked a big hand through my hair a little harder than he probably intended. His fingers snagged clumsily on bobby pins. “Hugging you.”

“I can see that. Why?”

“I’ve always wanted to,” he confessed.
