My name is Donald Barton
I was born 12 of July 2583 Federation Standard.
When I turned 18, my mother gave me this journal to write down my experiences. She told me that she had kept one most of her life. I have tried to be faithful to her and have put down my experiences. All my life I have only wanted to do one thing that is to walk in the Sun on a planet with blue sky above me.
I was born in Mining Guild housing and I had never set foot on a planet. When the recruitment ship came to our platform, I felt that the military would give me this chance. All I had to do was prove that I was able to do what was necessary to survive.
This is my journal from the time I joined the Federation military at age 18 until I had to make the choice between it and my life at age 28.
