As a young girl filled with dreams of love and success, eighteen year-old Carmen finds herself moving from suburban St. Paul to downtown Chicago to attend Columbia College. Navigating the dating world in the big city with her new best friends, she goes through five years of disaster dating, betrayal, and heartbreak, searching for love, revenge, and knowledge, all while focusing on learning how to love herself. She tells her story through poetry with a light humor and a whimsical nature, while also raw and real to the soul, and relatable to women.
