An old man sits on the footsteps on Mt. Vesuvius 79CE and contemplates his estate and the final entries of his memoirs, only to see the eruption begin. He retreats to his cellar and finishes up his affairs with knowledge, at longlast, life is over. Two millennia later, a corrupt archaeologist finds the memoirs and writes their story.
