It was the most difficult decision I’ve ever made, Hearteater. Knowing that succeeding meant you beguiling someone else. Making you forget our story. Our love.”

Grim reached toward her again, all restraint gone, and trailed his knuckles down her cheek, the necklace, her collarbones. Down the center of her chest. “Hearteater,” he said gently. “You don’t want to know what I’m thinking,” he finally answered. Her body tensed in anticipation, taut like an arrow a moment away from careening through the air.

Grim had returned to Nightshade, scathed. Betrayed.

is this the part where we're supposed to act like we care?

Isla opened her mouth. Hours before, her feelings had been different. Hours before, she had been ready to run away with Grim, to build a future together. To sacrifice all she wanted, for him.

But he had betrayed her in every way. He had taken away her memories instead of including her in his plan. Instead of trusting her to make her own decision. He had made the choice for her.

MHM, HE HAD WHAT?? BETRAYED HER!!! WOOOO, SHE REALISED THAT!! WOOOOOO!

Oro was wielding Isla’s power. And she could see in Grim’s face that he knew what that meant.

The look on his face, agony melting into surprise and finally anger, said that he had also tried to access her abilities. And found that he could not.

https://youtu.be/tzgk7lX5sBk call me petty the way this made me cheer like an England fan if they won the champion's league. GO ORO X ISLA WE ALL SAY IN UNISON

Grim had betrayed her on every level . . . He deserved Aurora’s wrath, a slow death at her hands . . .

    But Oro did not

This is my official plea and heartfelt request to make Oro the main love interest. Please i beg.

“You appeared in my castle one year ago. And you returned . . . several times. Using your Nightshade relic.”

oh- so that'ssss why there was a crazy sudden spike in the'r relationship with zero backstory. AND THAT'S HOW HE PRONOUNCED HER NAME RIGHT IN THE BEGINNING OMG. AND WHY ORO THOUGHT THEY'D MET BEFORE!!! wow okay it's all coming together huh. Also... nightshade relic? I thought they said it was from Starling...

The chair where Oro had sat and offered her a deal.

The couch where she had laid her head in Oro’s lap and first heard him laugh.

The balcony where he had heard her sing and saved her life.

She shook the memories away with a scowl. All he cared about was his people and breaking the curses. He didn’t care about her.

starting to get real tired of the mc dawg. are we sure it's him who doesn't care? like let's do some introspection brother

She wanted to win the Centennial; she wanted that immense power that was promised, longed for it like a lover. She wanted the Wildling power she had been denied at birth.

But she wouldn’t choose it over Grim. Or anyone else she cared about.

    *sigh*
great, au revoir to the people that raised her and her entire realm for a guy she met 90 smth days ago i guess

So, she made a plan. One that would still save her realm. Still save Celeste. It wouldn’t give her the power promised. It wouldn’t be a permanent solution for Terra and the Wildlings.

But it would give her Grim.

this is rapidly becoming very disappointing. especially since we have never once gotten Grim's pov so it kind of feels like 'oh in these few interactins we've shared i cannot stop thinking about you!' like okay brother back up, when did this get developed??
