“You are bonded to me. You gave me your soul. It is mine. I own it. Hold it. Cherish it.”

    “Can I do this?”

Delora paused with the bristles tangled through some knots. “You want to brush my hair for me?”

His eyes glowed a reddish-pink, but he nodded when she took the brush away so that he could hold her knotty strands.

“This action looks pleasant. I would like to touch your hair and make it nice for you.”

How could such a simple request make her heart stutter?

“I have found you alluring from the very beginning, Delora. You were broken and in need of healing, but that did not make you any less beautiful or worth caring for. I started to love you when you were sad, but it has only grown deeper with every smile you have gifted me. And in caring for you, it has made me feel as though I have a purpose. You have made me feel as though I am not just some ugly monster who eats everything, but something that is worth your affection.”

“I didn’t know if that was something you wanted from me. I did not want to pressure you with my feelings, and I have been content with just loving you even if you did not feel the same way.”

“Every time I have tasted you, I have been moments from shoving inside you. I burned for it. I need to feel you come around me, Delora. I need to feel it, taste it, smell that scent on my body as you coat me with your essence.”

“Good girl,” he rasped, making her eyes roll into the back of her head. “You brought yourself to me.”

“Mine,” he stated. “Your scent, your voice, your face and body. He cannot have them.”
