Contract Farming in India

Over the last five decades Indian agriculture has undergone a sea change altering significantly the rural landscape. The changes in the institutional set up were med by deliberate government policies in order to accelerate agriculture development and thereby augment rural income. This study is an attempt at evaluating the performance of contract farming in India and Maharashtra.
