Dr. Michael Masters, Georgetown professor of anthropology and antiquities, and graduate student Lilly Bailando are working late one night in Michael’s study, when Lilly stumbles upon a dilapidated leather-bound notebook that has been in the Masters’ family for generations. The notebook is filled with esoteric scribblings, and with the heart of a true academic, Lilly dives in, trying to understand their meaning.
What begins as an exercise of curiosity soon turns sinister as Lilly discovers some frightening connections dating all the way back to the thirteen colonies and following a strong thread through political and economic history.
With the help of fellow grad student, Frank Peterson, she uncovers new evidence pointing to the machinations of a cold and calculating force, at work since even before the beginning of our nation’s history. They start to uncover an ancient conspiracy, the goal of which may be to destroy the free world as we know it.
When Lilly’s apartment is ransacked and Frank disappears, Lilly and Michael must team up to search for their colleague, discovering that those they thought they could trust may be the most dangerous of all. To make matters more complicated, after a devastating international tragedy occurs, Lilly realizes she has been having prophetic dreams that seem to portend events to come that could spell disaster for life as we know it.
Fighting to connect the dots and understand her dreams, Lilly and Michael find themselves in a race against the clock to find Frank and stop the next event before it’s too late.
