It was no Mystery Box Challenge this time. I knew exactly what Adrian had put down the back of my trousers when I was distracted in Dr Yap’s office. It was the small novelty stapler that she had used to lure him away from the magazine rack. The one suspiciously the size, shape and colour of a suppository. It was Adrian’s finest abracadabra moment and my biggest challenge in mindfulness. Why one false move and I faced the very real prospect of a reverse end lap band stapling, the consequences of which could be devastating for a regular guy like me.
