Iran is the biggest sponsor of terrorism in the world. However, the United States of America vigorously condemns terrorism. America's armed forces are stronger and better trained than Iran's, and the Iranian government decided long ago that it was too dangerous to engage in direct military combat. Instead, they turned to terrorism, using their oil income to hire terrorists from other countries to carry out their dirty work. The Iranian government would like to equip its terrorists with nuclear weapons, but most Iranians do not want to go down this path. They do not hate everybody who is not a Moslem. They want democracy and freedom to dress as they please, go where they want, say what they want, and have any friends they want. We have a chance to help the Iranian people replace a terrorist government with a democratic government that can restore their freedom and make Iran a strong but friendly nation opposed to terror, murder and torture. The mullahs are losing their war of ideology, and we must strengthen and help decent Iranians in their struggle for rights we almost take for granted.
