The ability of dreams and creativity to transform a culture, as seen through the life of a village cripple, who rises by the power of his imagination to become one of the most exalted and influential people of his time. He dreams of a 'floating world' of new ideas that brings fresh inspiration to all who yearn for brilliance in life.

It is the story of one person's determination to rise above a multitude of adversities, and triumph over all obstacles, on a journey full of imagination and renewal. The story involves Jiemba, a crippled orphan in a rough mountain village who is educated by a scribe named Waru. This man recognises in Jiemba a sharp mind and a special gift of imagination. Waru supports and encourages him, but it is Jiemba himself who sees the path ahead and climbs to great heights. Looked upon as a dreamer by his fellow villagers, he nevertheless overcomes to be esteemed as an inspired innovator by a world that is hungry for change.

It is the story of any creative person who pursues their own unique vision within a realm of endless possibilities.
