In this first volume of political satire cartoons Mr. Smith traces early America, highlighting notable political figures and presidents from American history. The 1990s and early 2000s are given special attention because, during this era, much of our current political struggles or challenges, and especially our tumultuous transition after 9/11, had its first overt inception on American soil. The subjects of political debate and controversy on current events are also given special attention, featuring popular radio talk-show personalities, like Rush Limbaugh, or TV commentators, like Bill O'Reilly and Michael Savage, who have either formulated, or influenced, much of American opinion in the public arena. The book concludes with the ending of the Bush Administration and gives readers a retrospective, or political critique, from both a serious and humorous perspective.
