Letters to the Church

Our Holy God offers to dwell with you if you have a lowly and contrite spirit.

It may be true that people have hurt our feelings, but we must learn to value God’s Church more than our feelings.

Challenge yourself to grow to the point where you become thankful for difficult people.

We can cause real damage to our churches when we want our feelings validated more than we want His Bride elevated.

Let’s love people enough to help them leave their own pity parties so they can spend their lives drawing attention to God rather than themselves.

May God forgive us for building our church empires on the foundation of our own arrogance!

We’re busy reassuring one another that God wants us to do what’s safest for our families and to pursue God in a way that looks suspiciously similar to what we’d naturally do if our only concern was our own comfort and happiness.

Rather than producing powerful and fearless missionaries who go to the ends of the earth, we are left with thirtysomethings who live in their parents’ basements and complain about not having a singles’ group.

We are called to be an army of people who are so madly in love with Jesus that we are unshakable.

We want to become Spirit-filled, gospel-centered Christians devoted to prayer; but let’s not forget, we also want to be suffering Christians.
