This narrative is constructed from the perspective of Niko, a Greek who experienced the processes of deterritorialization of his homeland, caused first by the invasion of the Turkish-Ottoman Empire in Greece and then by the invasion of Nazi Germany at the beginning of the 20th century, and fought bravely to ensure that future generations would be able to access these memories. The book is set in the present, although it takes us on a journey through the great past of the civilization that gave rise to what we know today as the “West.” This journey takes us back to facts that traditional history has shied away from telling
